SmartLocate

SmartLocate is Technafrik's real-time location system (RTLS) for healthcare facilities. A small battery-powered tag on each mobile asset is picked up by fixed gateways around the building, and SmartLocate turns those signals into a trustworthy room- or zone-level location. It runs on its own or as a location layer for SmartMed. SmartLocate is in active development; the sections below describe the product we are building and piloting.
Scope
SmartLocate locates equipment, not people. It gives operational guidance at room and zone level — not clinical alarms, life-safety workflows, or centimetre-level precision. When a location is uncertain, stale, or outside coverage, SmartLocate says so rather than guessing.

How It Works
Tag
A battery-powered BLE tag is attached to each asset and broadcasts a stable identifier plus battery and motion status.
Sense
Fixed BLE gateways around the facility listen for tags and send timestamped readings to SmartLocate.
Locate
SmartLocate estimates the room or zone using gateway placement, calibrated signal strength, smoothing and confidence thresholds.
Find
Staff search or open a map or list to see where an asset is now — and how fresh that location is.
Learn
Movement and utilisation history informs rebalancing, purchasing and loss prevention.
